Da Costakade wins Geurt Brinkgreve Cup

Last Thursday, 8 December 2011, the project Da Costa kade in Amsterdam, also known as De Nieuwe Liefde (The New Love), was awarded the Geurt Brinkgreve Award. This prize is awarded annually to the best initiative in the field of renovation or redevelopment in Amsterdam.

The Jury report on The New Love:

"The winner [...] is The New Love, because of the special initiative with great radiance towards the neighborhood and the city and the beautiful development from idea to final detail. The project has been realised with a limited budget and without subsidy; also in that sense it is a sample project for redevelopment. The building has many uses, is flexible, so it can have a divers prgramme yet still maintain its clear identity and a special, comfortable relaxing atmosphere. From the busy city in Oud-West it is a pleasure to walk in."
