3 residential towers De Boompjes, Rotterdam
The residential towers at the Boompjes, along with other iconic high-rise projects determine the face of the northern riverbank.
In the basement offices and shops are housed. The three residential towers have been placed on top of the substructure by means of expansion joints.
The towers were constructed with a specially designed tunnel box. The exterior finish (precast concrete with broken white Norwegian marble) was mounted only shortly after completion of the structural shell, to allow rapid construction time to be realised.
