The Bank, Amsterdam

The former headquarters of the "Amsterdamsche Bank" at the Rembrandtplein has been substantially renovated. The building consists of a construction from the 1930s by architect Ouëndag in collaboration with architect Berlage and an extension from 1970 by architects Zwiers and Fontein.
The renovation of The Bank tried redevelop the monumental object as sustainable as possible. The former light court has been restored, which in turn restored the interior of the building. Profound structural changes at the location of the Amstelstraat and the Utrecht Amstelstraat gave the building a more open character, in order for stores to be accommodated.
The bank has a diversity of tenants, including BNP Paribas, Marqt, Wagamama, Ajax Experience, Guerilla, Starbucks, Deli George USA, Booking.com and Vapiano.
